FAQ
Common questions.
Legitimate recovery firms are identifiable by what they do not do: they do not charge "release fees" or "gas fees" to unlock your funds; they do not promise guaranteed recovery; they do not ask for a complete seed phrase or private key to "verify" your wallet.
KeyHaven's process is: triage (free), assessment (flat fee, disclosed on our pricing page), recovery run, success fee (on success only). If at any point someone asks for a charge not described on our pricing page, or contacts you from an address other than our official email in the footer, treat it as an impersonation attempt and do not respond.
We recommend verifying our details independently; confirm you are on this exact domain before submitting any information. If you have doubts, do not proceed.
No. This is one of the most prevalent crypto fraud pitches. Victims of theft are told a recovery firm can "reverse" the transaction for a fee. Blockchain transactions are irreversible; no firm, regulator, or exchange can undo a confirmed transfer on the blockchain unless they control the destination address's private key.
If you have been told otherwise, you are likely speaking with a scammer who will take further payment and disappear. Report it to your national financial regulator and, if in the US, to the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) at ic3.gov.
The assessment fee covers a genuine technical examination: we analyze the wallet file, test available information against known constraints, characterize the recovery problem, and produce a written report including a confidence estimate. This work takes significant time and specialist tooling regardless of whether recovery ultimately succeeds.
It is not refundable because it compensates for work already performed. However, it is credited in full against the success fee; if recovery succeeds, you pay the success fee minus the assessment fee already paid, not both fees in full.
No. Sharing a complete, working seed phrase or private key with any third party grants them irrevocable access to your funds. We do not want that exposure, and you should never provide it. Our methods are designed to work on partial or corrupted information; the cases where you have a complete, working phrase are cases where you do not need us.
If any service asks for your complete seed phrase to "verify ownership" or "process your case," stop all contact immediately. That is a theft technique.
It depends entirely on the specifics of your case: which information survives, the wallet type, the nature of the problem, and the entropy of unknown elements. There is no single figure that applies across all case types.
We provide an honest probability estimate in the assessment report. Cases above our confidence threshold proceed. Cases where the math does not favor recovery: we say so clearly. We would rather lose the engagement than charge an assessment fee for a case we believe is unrecoverable.
Triage responses arrive within one business day. The assessment phase duration depends on case complexity; we provide a timeline estimate when confirming case acceptance. Active recovery varies considerably: a password recovery with tight constraints may complete in hours, and a full phrase reconstruction with significant unknowns may take several weeks. We provide timeline estimates at the assessment stage and checkpoint updates throughout the recovery run.
No success fee is charged. You receive the assessment report with a full account of what was attempted and why recovery was not achievable. For some cases, new information (a recovered backup, a partially remembered detail) can restart the process. We remain in contact and welcome re-submissions when circumstances change.
Yes. Case details are handled under strict confidentiality. We do not share client information with third parties except as required by law, we do not reference client cases in marketing, and we do not retain material beyond what is needed for the engagement. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
